About the presenter
Per Strömberg is the Centennial Professor of Finance and Private Equity at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), and the head of the SSE department of finance. He is also Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
He holds a PhD and MSc from Carnegie Mellon University. His research is in the field of corporate finance and governance, much of it focusing on private equity and venture capital. Current research interests include the impact of climate regulation on firms, economic models of risk-premia for illiquid assets, private equity value-creation strategies, determinants of wages in the financial industry, and the importance of business angels for financing start-ups.
He is a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences, the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences, and sits on the prize committee of the Sveriges Riksbank Economics Prize in the Memory of Alfred Nobel since 2012. He sits on the board at the European Finance Association and is a former director of the American Finance Association. He is a former board member of Conversus Capital and the Sixth AP Fund; he recently joined the board of Coin, an independent investment advisor to institutional investors.
