In addition to sponsoring of academic research Inquire Europe organizes bi-annual seminars for its members. The Joint Spring Seminar 2025 will be organized in Brussels from 23 – 25 March 2025. A major part of the seminar will be devoted to:
“Machines and Data in Future Quant Investing”
This seminar is motivated by the developments of new datasets and new technologies (such as large language models and machine learning), innovating quant investing and transforming the asset management industry. We welcome papers that address how to structure long-term portfolios and quantitatively assess risks using machines and data, broadly defined. Potential topics of interest include but are not limited to alternative data, big data, model algorithms, return prediction, portfolio construction, trading & trading costs, large scale computing, and man versus machine.
Authors, both academics and from the financial industry, are invited to submit papers for presentation at the seminar. Papers should have a quantitative background, with empirical testing of models, or other practical relevance and applications. We also encourage submissions of papers on subtopics in the broad area of institutional investing and asset management that do not fit the main topic for the seminar.
The audience of the Inquire seminar consists of financial professionals, mostly asset managers, all with experience in quantitative analysis of financial markets. A typical presentation will last around 30 minutes, followed by a 30-minute discussion with the audience. The Program Committee of Inquire Europe will select the papers for presentation.
