21 December 2025 Filed Under: Prize winners, Research, Seminar

The prize for the best paper presented at the Autumn Seminar 2025 has been awarded to Tiange Ye (USC Marshall School of Business) for his presentation entitled ”Passive Demand and Active Supply: Evidence from Maturity-mandated Corporate Bond Funds”

Tiange Ye is a Ph.D. candidate in Finance at USC Marshall School of Business. His research focuses on financial intermediaries, credit markets, and alternative investments. In particular, his work studies how frictions and preferences of financial intermediaries affect asset prices and the real economy. Prior to USC, he earned an M.A. in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University and a B.S. in Business Finance from New York University.

Tiange Ye wrote the paper with his co-authors Lorenzo Bretscher (University of Lausanne) and Lukas Schmid (USC Marshall School of Business). Click here to read the summary of the presentation of Tiange Ye.

Inquire Europe members can download the paper at the members only area of this website under the section previous seminars / Autumn Seminar 2025.

We congratulate Tiange Ye on this well-deserved recognition.

“I am extremely honored and grateful to receive this award from Inquire Europe, especially as a young scholar. Presenting my work at the seminar was a truly rewarding experience, and I greatly appreciated the thoughtful feedback and engaging discussions with both academics and practitioners. The insights shared by participants who have a deep understanding of the field were incredibly valuable and will meaningfully shape my ongoing research.

I am also deeply thankful to my wonderful coauthors Lorenzo Bretscher (University of Lausanne) and Lukas Schmid (USC Marshall School of Business) for their collaboration and support throughout this project. I very much look forward to continuing to engage with the Inquire Europe community in the future”.
