The Institute for Quantitative Research in Europe (Inquire Europe) has appointed Marie Brière as their new Chair. She replaces Hans Fahlin, who has been acting as Chair since 2005. Ms. Brière will officially take the position as per 1 January 2023.
Inquire Europe was founded in 1990 and is a cooperative, non-profit professional organization whose primary objective is to encourage the practical application of advanced quantitative methods in investment management amongst academics and practitioners alike. The institute awards multiple research grants annually, thereby contributing the advancement of quantitative investing.
Marie Brière has been a board member of Inquire Europe since January 2019. In addition to her new role as Chair, she is Head of Investor Intelligence and Academic Partnerships at Amundi Institute, senior associate researcher with the Centre Emile Bernheim, Solvay Business School, Université Libre de Bruxelles and a member of several scientific councils, including the European Capital Market Institute of CEPS and the European Savings Observatory.
“I am honoured to be selected by my peers as the new Chair of Inquire Europe,” says Ms. Brière.
“We will work together to maximize the potential of the Institute, which does make a real, positive contribution amongst both investors and academics. Our main priority is to ensure that we are continuously encouraging the development of relevant scientific methods in the industry and fostering the research of the most talented academics in the field.”
