
The prize committees of Inquire Europe decided to award the prize for the best paper presented at the Joint Spring Seminar 2023 to Felix von Meyerinck (University of Zurich), for his presentation entitled “Inflation and Individual Investors’ Behavior: Evidence from the German Hyperinflation”.
Dr. Felix von Meyerinck is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Finance at the University of Zurich and an affiliated researcher at the Hamburg Financial Research Center. He studied at the Universities of Mannheim and Sydney and holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Hamburg. He held visiting positions at the finance departments of New York University’s Stern School of Business and Tilburg University. Following his PhD, he taught at the University of St. Gallen. His research focusses on corporate finance and household finance. Dr. Von Meyerinck wrote the paper with his co-authors Fabio Braggion (Tilburg University) and Nic Schaub (WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.
We congratulate our winner, and we are delighted this paper was submitted as a research project to Inquire. The Prize Committee enjoyed the clarity of the presentation and the real practical interest of the study. Such a study on historical data is quite unique and delivers great messages for our present times. The audience also gave very high marks which shows it was also convinced of the quality and the relevance of the work.
