| Inquire Europe is a cooperative, non-profit
professional organization which was formed in Europe in 1990. The
Group was established to bring together investment professionals
interested in understanding and developing quantitative solutions
to financial and investment problems.
The purpose of Inquire Europe is to encourage the use of practical advanced quantitative methods in investment management, to foster the study of finance and to support basic and applied research in the field of financial analysis in the European Common Market. The membership of Inquire Europe is composed of invited sponsor organizations from Europe consisting of a broad range of banks, stock brokers, consulting firms, insurance companies, investment advisors, independent money managers and pension funds. Inquire Europe conducts seminars twice a year, funds research projects of interest to the members, and periodically distributes research papers and summaries of its seminars and the seminars of Q-group and Inquire UK to its sponsors. Q-group and Inquire UK are sister organizations which have a similar mission as Inquire Europe. Inquire Europe, Inquire UK and Q-group work closely together in the field of co-funding research projects and organization of occasional joint seminars. Twice a year, sponsors of Inquire Europe are invited to attend and
participate in residential seminars held in Europe. These meetings
provide the primary means of exchanging new techniques being developed
by academics and practitioners. Seminar speakers are selected from
leading financial researchers in their fields, who are brought together
with the funded researchers to present their results.

| Once a year Inquire Europe awards prizes to those individuals who
have presented the best research papers at the seminar. The prize
serves to promote the high quality of seminar presentations and to
help attract leading researchers and their state-of-the-art research.
In order to make the investment community more aware of the award
and the goals of Inquire Europe guests from the financial community
are often invited. |
| One of the Group's principal activities is the funding of research
projects. Approved topics are relevant to finance and investments
and attempt to bring theory and practice together. In funding projects
Inquire Europe seeks competent researchers who have unique approaches
or insights into solving problems of significance to investment professionals.
